"Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time; but at the end it will speak, and it will not lie."
— Habakkuk 2:2-3
"I just love to worship God"
- Minister Adebukola
Profile
Adebukola Akinkunmi hails from Ibadan, Nigeria. On March 23, 2014, she gave her life to Christ—a turning point that marked the beginning of a supernatural journey. Immediately after her new birth, she began serving in the church choir, a ministry she cherished deeply. She reflects, “I just love to worship God.”
Not long afterward, by God’s mercy and divine favor, she traveled to the United States of America to further her education. Upon her arrival, the Lord visited her through several profound encounters—moments that would define the next decades of her life. Among these was the conviction that she would be called into full-time ministry. During this season, she received songs such as“Aye Nla,” “Igba Otun,” and others that would later form part of her musical foundation.
Over the next ten years, she pursued academic excellence, earning multiple degrees, licenses, and certifications while serving in the choir ministry. These years were foundational—seasons in which the Lord molded her character and deepened her faith. She firmly believes that believers can emerge as well-rounded (holistic) individuals: growing in faith that works by love, continuously refined in character, and in the continuous pursuit of knowledge. This conviction inspired her to pursue growth and excellence in every area of her life as she continued to wait on the Lord to make the vision plain.
Then came April 2, 2025—a date she describes as;
“A Dramatic Encounter of a Lifetime”
“It was like a church service. The Holy Ghost met with me, stretched out His rod on my mouth, and rained blessings on me with so much passion. I was surprised when His first prayer was about my stewardship in the choir, even though I had thought the vision was for the education ministry, which I also love deeply. By the end, I felt as if I had undergone an ordination service. He even sang a hymn after the blessings. I was drenched in tears. Then, in my local dialect, He said, 'Arise, wipe your tears; your struggles are over, your tears are over, your pains are over.' Finally, before leaving, He said, 'Join the choir.' That was the day I encountered an Overflowing River—one that has never stopped flowing.”
From that day, the Lord gave order to her life, rearranged her stewardship assignments, and unveiled the vision He had been preparing her for all along. Two months later, He tested her through a series of back-to-back special ministrations at WCINY.
Shortly after, during a night of Kingdom advancement prayers, the Lord spoke again: “It is time to start recording.” She reflects, “Ten years ago, I would never have imagined this. I was content and grateful to serve in the education ministry, especially since that was where I had received the most formal training.”
Adebukola is a practicing Family Nurse Practitioner. She is joyfully married and resides in New York, USA, with her husband and children. Her journey stands as a living testimony to the mercy and faithfulness of God—proof that when we write the vision and patiently wait on Him, it will surely come to pass at its appointed time.
